Giving Hearts & Mental Health Programming

Thanks to everyone who donated toward matching $15,000 that was raised through the Pumpkin UnParade this fall. These funds are dedicated to helping kids in Bismarck Public Schools with mental health.

Last Spring the Bismarck Public Schools Foundation learned that 17.2% of Bismarck High School students surveyed seriously considered attempting suicide and nearly 30% of BHS students surveyed felt sad or hopeless almost every day for 2 or more weeks in a row to the extent that they stopped doing some usual activities. As a result, the BPS Foundation has decided to take the lead in ending these horrible statistics by making mental health awareness and program assistance a priority for the 2018-19 school year.

The proceeds from these programs will be granted out immediately for programming in BPS schools.
