English Learners Program
Students who are identified as English Learners (ELs) can participate in language assistance programs to help ensure that they attain English proficiency and meet the same academic content and achievement standards that all students are expected to meet. Participation in these types of programs can improve students’ English language proficiency, which in turn has been associated with improved educational outcomes.
The percentage of BPS students enrolled in this program is continually growing as our district now accommodates EL student needs within 81 different languages!
Join us: If you are multilingual and would like to see what opportunities are available to help our EL students, please reach out to EL Program Coordinator Wendy Sanderson.
Give Today! Those who wish to donate to this program may do so in order to help our students within the EL program. Donations to this program may be utilized to purchase learning supports that are not currently covered by district funding and/or for student experiences that can increase their inclusion opportunities within BPS.
